Police Activities

  • In order to prevent the minors from riding the two wheelers the Durg-Bhilai has initiated a traffic campaign. First the minor riding two wheelers without proper authority are stopped and parents are called; traffic police educate and warn them. Subsequently, if the minor is caught again riding the two wheeler penalty is imposed under the Motor Vehicle Act. This initiative proved its worth as it reduces the habit of driving without license.
  • Durg-Bhilai traffic police has taken an initiative to create awareness about traffic rules and safe-driving amongst the school children. In this training using multimedia aids is being conducted in schools. The active participants are also rewarded with small prizes.
  • Durg-Bhilai police has started initiative for training of its men power through a refresher course in batches of 50. The duration of the course is of one week where in, the man power is enriched professionally through lectures and field exercises. Also, a detailed medical check-up is done on each of the participants so as to suggest adequate treatment of any disease such detected.
  • Durg Police has started a separate ladies cell in the control room where the ladies who are victim of eaves teasing or vulgar remarks or stalking or troubling with unwanted messages can report. The cell keeps the identity of the complainant anonymous thus ensuring them to come forward early. The cell during the last six months has provided relief to more than 100 victims.
  • As part of drive to clean the environment around us, Durg-Bhilai Police has launched a program of tree plantation in the police campus. As part of this more than 2000 trees have been planted during the rainy season of 2010.
